Product Description
Hot-dip galvanized studs, also known as hot-dip galvanized bolts, are manufactured by removing oil and rust from the studs, resulting in a pollution-free and wetted surface that is immediately immersed in the pre-positioned molten zinc bath.
This method forms a zinc coating on the surface of a workpiece by immersing it in a molten zinc plating bath.
Cold galvanizing, on the other hand, involves hanging workpieces that have undergone oil and rust removal, ensuring a pollution-free and wetted surface, onto the cathode in a dedicated electroplating tank to serve as anodes. Zinc ions migrate from the anode to the cathode when connected to a DC power supply, depositing a zinc layer onto the workpiece.
The coating applied during hot-dip galvanization is relatively thick, typically ranging from 30 to 60 microns, providing high anti-corrosion ability. Steel parts suitable for outdoor use, such as those used in highways and power transmission towers, benefit from this process. ASTM SA193-B7 Galvanized High Strength Full Thread Studs are suitable for long-term rust-resistant applications, including road fences, power towers, and large-sized fasteners. Previously, even iron water pipes were hot-dip galvanized.
Moreover, due to their high strength and corrosion resistance, hot-dip galvanized bolts are increasingly preferred for applications in power towers, signal towers, and highway guardrails.
