A320-L7 is an American standard low-temperature alloy steel with a chemical composition approximately equivalent to 42CrMoA, though some elements exhibit slight variations. SA320L7 belongs to the category of ultra-high strength steel, characterized by exceptional strength and toughness, excellent hardenability, absence of evident tempering brittleness, a high fatigue limit, and resistance to multiple impacts following quenching and tempering treatment. Moreover, it demonstrates commendable low-temperature impact toughness, making it well-suited for the production of large and medium-sized plastic molds that demand specific strength and toughness.
While A320-L7 shares similar mechanical performance with 42CrMoA, notable distinctions arise in the context of nut applications. B7 serves as an ultra-high-pressure and high-temperature bolt material, whereas L7 is employed for lower-temperature bolt applications. Additionally, some variations may exist in the composition of chemical elements.
